Snake Davis Rocks

by | 23 April 2019 | Gainsborough, Heritage, Music

All Saints Parish Church in Gainsborough is celebrating 275 years since it was rebuilt and a number of events have been planned to mark this milestone. Snake Davis, the internationally renowned saxophonist, and his band will be appearing at the Church on Friday 21st June at 7.30pm. The programme will include a wonderful mix of soul, world funk and Jazz classics, always melodic, always soulful, with original material, plus Snake’s take on the all-time greats by Otis Reading, Junior Walker and Michael Jackson. ‘Classic Sax’ solos, which were a great hit at his show in Gainsborough last year, are also included, along with haunting Japanese shakuhachi and works for the Irish Whistle.

One reviewer described his repertoire: ‘Snake’s playing is effortless and lifts the soul. His quietly spoken anecdotes and description of the pieces that he plays, add to the experience and makes you want to explore and discover new things.’
Tickets are on sale at £15.00 and £12.00 and a child under 14 years can attend free with each adult ticket purchased. They are available locally from All Saints Church Café on 01427 611036, Horsleys of Gainsborough or online at www.wegottickets.com/event/464004.
