People of Worksop boogied at a Zumbathon to raise money for Weston Park Cancer Charity.
The event, which took place at Worksop Leisure Centre, was organised by fitness instructor Linda Civitillo.
Nearly 30 people joined Linda for the two-hour session, which took a brief pause for a raffle, raising over £860 for Weston Park.

Linda said: “Everyone that took part did really well, they were all very supportive of each other. There was a great atmosphere — we all got a buzz for helping a great cause.”

Linda -— who has worked at BPL-operated Worksop Leisure Centre for over 14 years — hosts an annual Zumbathon in the run up to Christmas, to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

She decided to host a standalone Zumbathon for Weston Park Cancer Charity to coincide with Worksop Leisure Centre’s family fun day, on Saturday 27th July.

Linda said: “The people of Worksop are amazing. We only expected to raise a couple of hundred pounds, this is amazing!”

Phill Richardson, Facility Manager of Worksop Leisure Centre, says that he is proud of Linda’s dedication to fundraising.

He said: “Over the years Linda has raised a phenomenal amount of money for a number of charities by holding her annual Zumbathon at Worksop Leisure Centre. Linda is a very popular instructor amongst our members and a large number of members support the Zumbathon every year. Linda is very passionate about her fitness classes and raising money for charity.

“Linda is a credit to BPL and Worksop Leisure Centre.”
