Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice’s annual Recycle Your Christmas Tree service has returned for the festive season, giving households the opportunity to support the hospice, the local community and the environment. Registration for the tree collection service – one of Bluebell Wood’s biggest fundraising initiatives – is open until Tuesday 6th January, with collections taking place from Monday 12th January to Friday 23rd January across Retford, Worksop, North Nottinghamshire, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Rotherham, North East Derbyshire and Sheffield. Now in its fifth year, the annual collection is sponsored by glass container manufacturer Beatson Clark and offers a reliable, environmentally friendly way to dispose of Christmas trees while helping households declutter after the festivities.

E.ON is also the charity’s sustainability partner, ensuring that 100% of the trees collected are recycled or repurposed. Many of the trees are used to help generate electricity for homes and businesses across the Sheffield City Region. There is a suggested donation of £15.00 per collection, and households have until Tuesday 6th January 2026 to register. Heidi Hawkins, Chief Executive at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “Our Christmas tree recycling campaign is a real standout moment in our fundraising calendar. “We’re proud to collaborate with more than 25 partners, including some of the region’s most forward-thinking and eco-conscious companies, to make it happen. They support us with everything from collecting the trees after the festive season is over, to providing space to hold the trees before they go for recycling and, of course, helping us repurpose and reuse what we collect.

“It’s a true reflection of community spirit, growing year after year and making a real difference locally. We want to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has recycled or plans to recycle their tree with us, to our sponsors and partners for their expertise, and to our wonderful volunteers. Your support makes this possible.”
