A collaboration with Worksop Town FC

Aurora is excited to announce that Worksop Town Football Club has chosen Aurora as its charity of the year.

Affectionately known as The Tigers, Worksop Town claims to be the fourth oldest football club in the world (founded in 1861) and plays home games at the Windsor Foodservice Stadium on Sandy Lane. The stadium has a capacity of over 2,000 with covered seating stands, a bar and two snack cabins.

Aurora is a cancer charity providing support in the local area for people living with cancer or a long-term health condition. But Aurora is not just a cancer charity; they have a variety of support groups, counselling services and recreational activities on offer for the public too as well as a charity shop and tearooms.

Andy Parnell Commercial Director for Worksop Town commented: “Worksop Town is proud to be supporting such a fantastic local service provider.”

To coincide with World Cancer Day on 4th February, Aurora’s first fundraising event was a bucket collection at Worksop Town’s home match against Ashton United on Saturday 3rd February – which Worksop Town won 1-0, so a great start to the campaign. There are lots of events planned for the coming year so keep an eye on Aurora’s website for more news.

If you would like to get involved or have any fundraising ideas, they would love to hear from you. Contact Aurora on 01909 470985 or email hospitality@aurorawellbeing.org.uk.
