Did you know your local Citizens Advice service is mainly made up of volunteers? Their service could not operate without their volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver advice and support face-to-face, over the telephone and via email. Could you find some time to dedicate yourself to supporting others locally?
You can make a real difference in your community by volunteering with Citizens Advice. Here’s how you can get involved.
Citizens Advice believes everyone deserves access to independent, free advice to help them deal with life’s problems and challenges. Their volunteer roles include:
- helping people online, over the phone, or in person
- raising funds
- researching and campaigning for policy change
- helping witnesses in court
- helping the service to run smoothly via admin and customer service teams
- becoming a trustee
Here is what one of their volunteers had to say about volunteering with Citizens Advice:
“I was worried that I didn’t have any experience to become an adviser but I got all the training and support I needed to fulfil my role. You gain skills and experience that stay with you for life. There is a great support system in place… it makes you feel like you are part of something great.”
If you are looking for a new challenge and would like to get involved please contact Citizens Advice Central Nottinghamshire via admin@ca-centralnotts.org.uk.
