The National Holocaust Centre

Broken Instruments is a story of survival, made possible through the power of music.

Featuring live music, storytelling and original songs, the project features the recollections of musician, luthier, and Holocaust survivor Ari Vander. Join him as he turns back the pages of his life and offers a message of hope for a better future for us all.

Broken Instruments is a story inspired by the book ‘Violins of Hope’ by James A Grymes and although told through the writings of an imagined character, the events to which he relates actually happened.

Bill, Phil and Nina return to The National Holocaust Centre to perform an emotive and thought-provoking montage of music and song on Sunday 30th July. This acoustic theatre performance is a unique opportunity to watch the show before they leave to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. There will be an exclusive performance of ‘Six Million White Roses’, the song they wrote especially for the centre, which has a special place in their hearts.
