The Friends of Milton Mausoleum

On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September, The Friends of Milton Mausoleum held their first heritage event – a two-day exhibition showcasing historical facts, documents, photographs and artefacts illustrating village life in the area. More than 200 visitors passed through the doors of the Mausoleum and enjoyed a fascinating range of displays provided by families and businesses from across the parish of Markham Clinton. Tours of the monument room, featuring the statue of Georgiana, wife of the 4th Duke of Newcastle, were led by volunteer stewards and proved a popular highlight. Refreshments were served throughout the weekend, completing a memorable and successful event. The Friends would like to thank all visitors for their generous support. Anyone interested in joining as a volunteer is warmly invited to get in touch for more information.
