On Sunday 28th April, the Friends and Supporters of the Milton Mausoleum enjoyed a delicious two-course lunch at the West Retford Hotel. Guests were treated to an engaging talk by Maggy Watkins on the Walled Gardens of Clumber Park. The event also included a raffle and the first 100 Lottery draw of the year. It was a pleasure to welcome familiar faces whose regular support is greatly valued, as well as new friends and supporters – including a couple of guests from Canada. The occasion marked a warm and successful start to the 2025 events calendar.
Sunday 4th May marked the first Sunday opening of the Mausoleum for the year. Volunteers will be on hand every Sunday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm until Sunday 28th September to welcome visitors, offer tours of the historic building, and share its fascinating connections to The Dukeries and beyond. Summer Celebrations Concert, 7.00pm
A special black-tie anniversary event, with doors opening at 6.30pm. This highly anticipated concert will feature the talented Oliver Harris, performing songs by Elton John, Roy Orbison, and more. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of wine and enjoy canapés and drinks on the lawn during the interval. Seating is limited, and tickets are £18.00. Heritage Weekend
Held at the Mausoleum and West Markham Church, this event offers a fantastic opportunity to explore local and family history. A range of historical archives and memorabilia will be on display. Those with items of interest are invited to contribute to the exhibition – tables are available on request. Open from 10.00am to 4.00pm on both days, with refreshments provided. Free entry. The third 100 Lottery draw will take place over the weekend.
Saturday 6th December
Carols by Candlelight, 3.00pm
A festive favourite, this event marks the beginning of the Christmas celebrations. The Four Players will provide musical entertainment in the atmospheric setting of the Mausoleum. Seasonal treats include mince pies, mulled wine, and a raffle. The final draw of the 100 Lottery will also take place. Due to limited seating and high demand, early booking is strongly advised.
Bookings are now open for all 2025 events. Early reservation is recommended to avoid disappointment.
