The Dukeries Community Band is a wind band comprising brass, woodwind and percussion instruments.
Unfortunately, they are somewhat short of brass players. They borrowed players from other bands to help out at their recent charity concert, which raised £510 for Nottinghamshire Mind (doubled with match funding to a fantastic £1,020).
So, if you currently play a brass instrument, or have done in the past and want to start playing again then please go and see what the Band is about! New players, of any age, are welcome to any of their rehearsals to join in straight away (no audition) or just to listen.
Additional flute players and clarinet players would also be most welcome to boost both these sections.
They rehearse each Tuesday during term time at the Dukeries Academy, Ollerton from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
With an ever-increasing repertoire featuring pop to classical with lots in between, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.
Their concerts support the local community and charities. They are always happy to hear from organisations who would like the Band to play for them.
