Season’s greetings from everyone at The Dukeries Community Band! It doesn’t seem long since the band was performing outdoors at summer galas, and now preparations are well underway for the festive season and the annual Christmas concert. This year’s Christmas-themed charity concert will take place on Saturday 6th December, starting at 7.30pm, at The Church of St Paulinus, Church Circle, Ollerton NG22 9SZ. Admission is £5.00 on the door, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
The band is delighted to be joined by The Dukeries Academy Choir for the evening. The two groups share a long-standing association, and the band is thrilled to welcome the choir to perform alongside them once again. Audience participation will be warmly encouraged – although singing along is entirely optional! All proceeds from the concert will go to The Rope Project, a wonderful community initiative supporting men, women and families who have fled domestic violence by providing them with essential household items free of charge.
The Dukeries Community Band is a friendly wind band featuring brass, woodwind and percussion players. New members are always welcome to join, either to play or simply to listen in at a rehearsal – no audition is required. The band rehearses every Tuesday during term time at The Church of St Paulinus from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
The band regularly performs concerts to support local charities and community events, and is always happy to hear from organisations interested in hosting a performance. The Dukeries Community Band wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2026.
