Rehearsals are well under way for the Dukeries Community Band’s charity fundraising Christmas concert. This is taking place on Saturday 6th December, 7.00pm start, at St Paulinus Church in Ollerton. More information about the concert and the special guests will be available shortly on www.dukeriescommunityband.co.uk and on the band’s Facebook page.

The band have added some new Christmas-themed pieces to their repertoire and these will be featured in the concert, along with a mix of traditional Christmas favourites and uplifting non-seasonal pieces.
Players are currently rehearsing in St Paulinus Church Hall, Ollerton during term time on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Have you ever thought about joining a band? Do you have a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument at home that you are learning to play or haven’t played for some time? Would you like to improve your playing? Do you think you would enjoy playing with a band in a friendly, supportive environment?

If the answers to the above are “yes” then the Dukeries Community Band could be ideal for you. They don’t audition. All they ask is that you are able to read music, attend rehearsals and are keen to play in concerts (they have around six a year).

Their concerts support the local community and charities and they are always happy to hear from organisations who would like the band to play for them. For more information, please contact dukeriescommband@btinternet.com or visit http://www.dukeriescommunityband.co.uk.
