Sherwood Forest Rotary Club

It is with great sadness that Rotarians are informing you, their supporters for over 52 years, that the Sherwood Forest Rotary Club will cease to exist at the end of December 2024.

They are thankful to those members of the public who have enabled them to support many local charities as well as many overseas.

A spokesperson said: “It has been a privilege to be able to spread the name of Rotary International in our area under the banner of Sherwood Forest. The community has supported us at all of our fundraising events with a generosity, which has been truly heartwarming. As a result, we have been able to support groups and individuals throughout our local villages in a way which has enabled them to complete their projects.

“Our remaining funds have now been distributed to six local groups.

“We have had fun, felt pride in the support we have received and hope that our work has been appreciated by all in the local communities.

“Back in the 1970s we were all much younger, enthusiastic and active but the years have gradually taken their toll and we hope that one day, in the not too distant future, a group of young men and women will see fit to start their own Rotary Club in the Edwinstowe, Ollerton and Warsop community.

“We wish you all well and thank you once more for your support of the Rotary Club of Sherwood Forest.”
