On Friday 20th May Sherwood Forest Rotary held a charity golf day in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. It took place at Rufford Park Golf and Country Club in fine weather and was enjoyed by all who took part.
Each year the event is fortunate to be sponsored by Jones & Co Solicitors who continue to support local groups, and the Rotary once again thank them for their continued support.
They would also like to thank all the local (plus one from Bermuda!) businesses and individuals who sponsored each hole on the golf course. The raffle prize table also looked excellent, and thanks are offered to all those who contributed prizes and bought tickets.
This continues to be an excellent day, playing golf with friends and raising funds for charity. Some regular players weren’t available this year; hopefully they will be back for the next one.
Rufford Park Golf and Country Club were, once again, the perfect hosts and the Rotary thanks them for their support. Rotarians from Sherwood Forest were in attendance and assisted in the running of the day.
Thanks also go to event organiser Rotarian Malcolm Bevan who continues to play in the competition but has yet to win a prize!
As a result of their charity day, Alzheimer’s Research UK has received a donation of £1,500 and has written to the club thanking them for their support.
