Sherwood Forest Brass

by | 3 September 2025 | Local Experiences, Music, Sherwood

As the summer holiday season begins, two of the youngest members of Sherwood Forest Brass headed off to Dorset to take part in the Wessex Band Course. It was the first taste of the course for Florence and Matilda Mondschein, approximately 40 years after their mother first took part.

Over the summer, the band will be working on its next programme for the autumn concert on Monday 6th October at Clipstone.

The band is currently gathering photographs, articles, and other material from the last 25 years to document its history. Anyone with material to share is encouraged to contact Philip Owen via email at pow@sherwoodforestbrass.com.

Don’t forget that if you want to experience live music, you can join Sherwood Forest Brass. Instruments are available for all ages and abilities, and instrument hire is free. If you don’t read music, the band will teach you, with tuition provided free by a qualified musician.

The band currently rehearses on Monday 7.00pm to 9.00pm at Clipstone Social Club, Clipstone. NG21 9AL. For further information, phone Christine on 01623 842121.
