Rotary Club of Sherwood Forest Food Bank November

by | 31 October 2020 | Local Charity, Rotary, Sherwood

During the month of November, members of Sherwood Forest Rotary Club are each putting together a box of food to donate to the Trussell Trust Food Bank. Last year a collection was made at South Forest Leisure Centre and passed on to the Food Bank in time for Christmas, but circumstances do not allow the club to do this in 2020.
Collecting donations in November allows the Foodbank to prepare in time for Christmas, so donations such as Christmas puddings and children’s favourites would be available for the Christmas period.
The Rotary club would like to invite members of the community to join them in this venture by creating a box into which they place one item each day (or as often as circumstances allow) throughout the month of November and deliver it to the Food Bank at the end of November or the beginning of December. They will be very pleased to see you!
If you are able to take part, when you deliver your box please mention Rotary’s ‘Food Bank November’ or attach a label saying this to your box. It would be good to know how many families have taken part.
The Food Bank is situated at the Methodist Church on Forest Road, New Ollerton and is open on Mondays between 11.00am and 2.00pm. Should you not be able or not wish to deliver your box to the Food Bank please contact the club on and they will make arrangements to assist you.
