Retford and District Photographic Society

Monday 1st September sees the start of the 2025 – 2026 season for Retford and District Photographic Society.
The first evening has a social feel as everyone catches up after the long break since April. There will be an introduction to the programme for the season with brief insights into what the speakers will be offering, as well as an overview of the competitions and a new shared event with Bolsover’s Photographic Society.

It is a perfect opportunity for anyone who has been thinking about returning to the club or who wants to see what a photo club is like. There is a warm welcome awaiting everyone. The club caters for all ages and experience levels. Under-18s are advised to have a parent or guardian contact the society in advance to enquire about junior membership and requirements.

Adult annual membership is £35.00, which has not increased for several years. Returning members are asked to bring their payment in an envelope marked with their name and membership number. The nightly members’ attendance fee is £3.00.

Guests are welcome on up to three visits before being asked to commit to joining. The guest fee is £5.00 per visit, payable at the door.

A great variety of speakers is booked for the season, and the programme can be seen on the website. The competition season begins with two events without themes, so your best photos will be eligible. The themed competition this year will be for ‘Reflections’, which is a broad enough title to offer plenty of scope for creativity.
The society is looking forward to welcoming everyone again.

Full details can be found on the club website: http://www.retford-photographic.co.uk. The meeting begins at 7.30pm, and everyone is asked to arrive a little earlier as the signing-in desk will be busy. The club will do its best to start the evening on time. The club meets at St Joseph’s Hall, Babworth Road, Retford, at 7.30pm every Monday. Apart from the seasonal mid-season break, there will be a meeting every Monday until the end of April 2026. Please check the website as the start of the season approaches.
