Ollerton WI get back together indoors
Ollerton WI held their first full meeting since restrictions eased in August at the Jubilee Hall and it was so successful.
They enjoyed good attendance from existing members and they had two new ladies join. Their guest speaker was Baroness Bolsover, giving a talk about afternoon tea. She was so entertaining and so funny, just what they all needed after such a long time. The competition was a favourite cup and saucer and it was won by Linda Holmes. Also, what made this meeting so special was members sang Jerusalem for the first time since lockdown.
The group are busy getting their darts team back together and in September they have a trip to Ossinton Hall and Gardens. Their 100th year bench for their WI will be put in place in late September.
Their next speaker will be Godfrey Harris, talking about folk tales, folklore and funny folk. Now things are up and running again, if you would like to know more about the group please call Sue on 01623 860530 or 07982 429176, or the town hall on 01623 860811. They meet every first Thursday of each month from 7.15pm to 9.45pm at Jubilee Hall, Wellow Road, Ollerton. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
