Ollerton WI had its March meeting and it was a great success, with a craft evening in two halves. At one end of the hall was origami, organised by member Janet, and on the other side member Karen demonstrated ‘Kumihimo’. Members then swapped ends so everyone could have a go at each activity.
The Walking Netball ladies have now found a new home thanks to the Dukeries Leisure Centre. It takes place every other Tuesday at 7.00pm to 8.00pm, offering a great get-together and active fun.
Some ladies from the WI also organise regular local walks, weather permitting, with the latest being around Bickers Waters (including a restful stop for a cup of tea!).
Trees were planted for the group’s 100th birthday on 19th March – look out for a report of this in the next edition. In addition to all this, the group also has a darts team, panto team, and lots more. So, if your interest is piqued, go along – the ladies would love to see you! They meet at the Jubilee Hall, Wellow Road, Ollerton on the first Thursday each month at 7.15pm to 9.45pm. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
