Experience the ambience of a unique candlelight concert on Saturday 28th March, as classical composer and pianist Chris Miggells returns to his roots for a fundraising event organised by the St George’s Day Celebration group. Chris, who grew up locally, has become known for the uniquely immersive style of his concerts. His music is cinematic and expressive, with Notts TV describing him as “the Banksy of the piano world”.
Chris has performed in extraordinary venues across the UK and around the world, including iconic industrial heritage sites, planetariums, and other major performance spaces. He is renowned for selling out multiple dates and has featured on the BBC and ITV. A spokesperson for the St George’s Day Celebration group said: “Despite his busy performance schedule, Chris has generously agreed to perform this concert completely free of charge in support of this April’s St George’s Day Celebration.
“We are proud that the event remains free of charge for everyone who attends. Last year, it cost around £7,000 to run, with essential overheads such as road closures and facilities. All committee members are volunteers giving their time for the benefit of the community, and we are immensely grateful for the support Chris has offered to boost our fundraising efforts.”
Chris will be joined by the Dukeries Singers, who will perform a rousing medley of highlights from Les Misérables, and Invicters 59 Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebels.
