Ollerton Library

Ollerton Library is located on Forest Road, next to the Post Office. It is open Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. There’s lots of services available at the Library and online at www.inspireculture.org.uk, too. Keep up with the latest news and events at Ollerton Library through their Facebook page.

Adult events

  • The Crime Reading Group meets monthly to discuss the book of the month and enjoy a friendly chat. The next meetings are on Tuesday 7th October and Tuesday 4th November.
  • The Craft and Chat group meets every Wednesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Take along your current craft project or start something new – all crafts are welcome.

Children’s events

  • Rhyme, Rattle and Roll takes place every Friday at 2.00pm during term time. Enjoy songs and rhymes with little ones – a fun way to build vocabulary and coordination while meeting new people.
  • Lego Club runs every Monday from 4.00pm to 5.00pm and every Saturday from 10.00am to 12.00 noon.
  • Code Club (term time only) takes place every Saturday from 10.00am to 11.00am for children aged nine to 13, learning to code with Scratch and Python. To join, email sfepartnership@gmail.com.

Special events

  • The badge machine will be in the library from Tuesday 14th October to Monday 3rd November – drop in and design your own badge to take home.
  • Halloween Half Term activities will run from Monday 20th October to Sunday 2nd November. Join in drop-in craft sessions and take part in the Halloween Hunt around the library.
  • Green Week runs from Monday 27th October to Saturday 1st November. Create your own seed packet design and imagine magical plants such as a unicorn tree, pizza plant or cat cactus.

Storyteller Event

On Saturday 8th November from 10.00am to 12.00.00pm, professional storyteller Beccy Dye will lead a creative and relaxed session exploring different types of storytelling – with movement, music and voice. Suitable for children aged seven and above and their families (children must be accompanied by an adult). Free entry, but places are limited, so booking is advised.

Dukeries Library

Dukeries Library is located in the Dukeries Academy. Press the buzzer at the Whinney Lane entrance and reception staff will let you in. The library has a wide range of books to borrow, including fiction, non-fiction, spoken word and large print. Computers are free to use for internet browsing, online resources, catalogue searches and Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Monday: 8.30am to 1.15pm, 1.45pm to 4.00pm
  • Tuesday: 8.30am to 1.15pm, 1.45pm to 4.00pm
  • Wednesday: 8.30am to 1.15pm, 1.45pm to 4.00pm
  • Thursday: 8.30am to 1.15pm, 1.45pm to 4.00pm
  • Friday: 8.30am to 1.15pm, 1.45pm to 3.45pm
