Ollerton Library
Located on Forest Road next to the Post Office, Ollerton Library offers a welcoming space for the local community.

- Tuesday: 9.00am to 1.00pm
- Wednesday: 2.00pm to 5.30pm
- Thursday: Closed
- Friday: 9.00am to 1.00pm, 1.30pm to 5.30pm
- Saturday: 9.00am to 12.30pm
At Ollerton Library, visitors can join for free and borrow books (with ID), use free WiFi, print and photocopy (charges apply), access computers, order books, trace family history using Ancestry, discover local history, and join adult learning courses. There is also a meeting room available for hire. Online services include free access to eMagazines, eNewspapers, eAudiobooks, and event listings at www.inspireculture.org.uk.
Regular events at Ollerton Library
Adult events
- Crime Reading Group meets monthly for book discussion and friendly chat. Upcoming meetings: Monday 3rd June and Monday 1st July.
- Craft & Chat Group meets every Wednesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Attendees are welcome to bring their current projects or start something new.
- Ollerton Writers Group meets fortnightly on Saturdays. Next sessions: Saturday 14th June and Saturday 28th June.
- Job Club runs alternate Wednesdays at 2.30pm. June dates: Wednesday 4th and Wednesday 18th. Support is available for CV writing and job searches.
Children’s events
- Rhyme, Rattle and Roll takes place Fridays at 2.00pm during term time, offering songs and rhymes for babies and toddlers.
- LEGO Club meets every Monday (4.00pm to 5.00pm) and Saturday (10.00am to 12.00pm).
- Code Club runs Saturdays from 10.00am to 11.00am for children aged nine to 13. Email sfepartnership@gmail.com to join.
InspiREAD Awards 2025
InspiREAD, launched during lockdown, is a primary-age book award that runs annually during the summer term. Children can vote for their favourite shortlisted books in three categories: picture books, shorter books, and longer novels. Voting closes on Thursday 20th June. The initiative is funded by Arts Council England, Nottinghamshire County Council, and Arc Partnership.
Music courses – Adult Learning
Held from Friday 6th June to Friday 11th July at Ollerton Library:
- Soundscapes for Beginners (1.00pm to 3.00pm): Explore music and sound as tools for wellbeing. No musical skills required.
- Singing for Wellbeing (10.00am to 12.00pm): Uplifting group singing sessions to improve mood and confidence.

Book Sale
Running from Monday 2nd to Saturday 7th June, this sale offers a chance to pick up something new to read.
St George’s Day Celebration
Ollerton Library took part in the village’s St George’s Day celebration by contributing to the arts and crafts display at St Giles’ Church. Children visiting the library helped decorate scales for a colourful dragon, proudly displayed at the front of the church during the festivities. The day featured markets, music, bubble-blowing dragons, and refreshments served by the local WI. The event was a great success, with lovely weather and strong community spirit.
Dukeries Library
Situated within Dukeries Academy (Whinney Lane entrance), this library offers a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, large print and spoken word books, and free access to computers and online resources.

- Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 12.30pm, 1.00pm to 4.00pm
- Friday: 8.30am to 12.30pm, 1.00pm to 3.45pm
