Unfortunately, the February Nottinghamshire Environmental Association meeting had to be cancelled due to illness. The subject of the talk, ‘A Road by any Name’, will be part of the 2024 Programme.
Saturday 18th February saw the group’s Annual Lunch and Annual General Meeting. An excellent three-course lunch, followed by coffee and mints, was thoroughly enjoyed by the 42 members and four non-members who attended the event at Ye Olde Bell Hotel in Barnby Moor. Following the lunch, Chairman Paul Willcock conducted the AGM which began with a brief review of the work of the Association in 2022.
Many difficulties had arisen for the Association in the wake of the Covid Pandemic but with changes in how the Association organised itself these had been overcome. The formal business included elections of Officers and Committee Members and a re-structuring of fees.
There were two raffles, the first for over 30 prizes donated by members, the second for a voucher donated by the Hotel. The total raised was exactly £200 and this was donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee for the relief of those affected in the Turkish / Syrian earthquake.
On 6th April there will be a talk by a member of the Veolia company on Recycling in Bassetlaw. The talk will start at 7.30pm at Hallcroft Community Centre, Randall Way, Retford.
