At the time of print, Ollerton Town Football Club is sitting in fourth place of the Central Midlands Alliance League, Premier Division North. After four games, they have secured six points and they hope by the time you are reading this, they have secured more points to their tally.
Manager Lee Cook (Cooky) said at the beginning of the season: “Walking into a club like Ollerton and seeing the potential for the facilities, the junior section and the committee members’ enthusiasm to get the club back to where they want it to be, raises a smile and gives me all the motivation I need to get some points on the board this season.”
Cooky brings with him vast experience at this level of football, managing sides such as Teversal, Staveley MW and Chesterfield Youth team. His aim for this season is to have a positive league campaign along with winning a cup, most notably the Floodlit Cup, which he has won before with Chesterfield Youth team.
Over the summer, the club have made strides to improve the facilities. Along with the hard work of growing their youth section, they wanted to improve the site in the ways in which were achievable. The ground is still a familiar place, but the club has plans in place to make even more improvements over the season and has a long term vision for the site for the entire community to enjoy.
