Family, friendship and fun were at the forefront as Major Oak Pop Choir performed to two audiences at St Mary’s Church in Edwinstowe under the leadership of new musical director Thea Avison, who has taken over the baton as the choir moves into its 12th year. Audiences enjoyed performances of popular songs by artists including Andrea Bocelli, Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, Madonna and Queen.
The choir’s next concert will take place on Sunday 14th June at Thoresby Vale Workshop. Musical director Thea Avison said: “We are delighted to be performing a unique Concert by Candlelight featuring the amazing and acclaimed composer and pianist Chris Miggells.” The concert will raise funds for Paul’s Pit Stop, a local mental health and suicide awareness charity.
