On 3rd September, The Lincs and Notts motorcycle ride-out will once again be raising much-needed funds for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA), Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service (LEBBS) and Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes (NBB). This will be the sixth year of this charity ride-out and they hope to make it the biggest yet. For bikers of all ages, it’s a fantastic event across LNAA’s home counties.
Last year the ride-out raised over £3,200 which was split equally between the three charities. This year the riders hope to smash that! Any local fundraising initiatives to further support their efforts would be most appreciated.
The ride starts at 10.30am at Newark Showground and will travel through on a circular route before heading back to the Showground for some refreshments.
It was wonderful for the riders to see so many people waving as they came through the villages last year, so please do support them again if you are able.
Roland Johns, volunteer and joint organiser of the event said: “For bikers of all ages, it’s a fantastic event seeing hundreds of colourful bikes travelling together through our local towns and villages. We all know that bikers and their families recognise the important role the LNAA plays for many different communities. The enhanced level of pre-hospital critical care delivered to patients at the scene gives people with the most severe injuries and medical conditions the very best chance of survival when minutes matter.”
The Emergency Blood Bikes Service (LEBBS and NBB) are run solely by volunteers and like the LNAA rely solely on public donations. Covering both Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, last year the LNAA team were called to 1,610 potentially life-saving missions. But this amazing service comes at a price. For each mission costs on average £4,000.
