Edwinstowe and the Dukeries Lions Club members are battling the elements and the ever-expanding villages, to get Santa visits as many areas of our community again this December. Look out for them around the district, playing songs and sometimes singing along to them and handing out Freddo chocolate bars (dairy free alternative available) to children visiting Santa’s sleigh.
The Club’s collections at Christmas are hugely important to the Lions’ ability to support worthy causes, so please try and continue with your generosity. The club now has a card machine to allow convenient donations from those who do not carry cash. Any donation, big or small, is appreciated. Keep an eye on social media, where Edwinstowe and the Dukeries Lions will post updates about where you can find them. They hope to see as many young people as possible. And they always require help collecting, so if you can donate a little time to them please let them know.
They will be at Ollerton Tesco for three days – Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December. They appreciate Tesco’s continued support and this static display means people can still see them if they miss a mobile visit. During the last year, the Lions have supported loads of local people and organisations, too many to mention individually, but be assured they check all requests thoroughly to ensure your money is used wisely.
One final thing to mention, the Club would love to welcome new members to enable them to continue their work and bring fresh ideas and energy to the club.
