The ladies of Inner Wheel Warsop got together to run the ever-popular tea and cake tent at the Warsop carnival on Sunday 2nd July.
The ladies did themselves proud with their cakes, selling every last one, and made over 600 hot drinks for the thirsty event visitors. The ladies shared the marquee with Vibrant Warsop, who had organised a flower show and children’s vegetable monster making event which was very popular with the tea tent visitors.
The ladies’ hard work raised a fabulous £1,023 for new President Sharlotte Somerville’s charity pot. The day was full of smiles and happy chatter and enjoyed by everyone.
On Wednesday 5th July the club held its first meeting of the new Inner Wheel year. Past president Christine Parkin handed over the regalia of office and inducted new President Sharlotte, whose first role was to induct new member Jenny Briggs.
Jenny spoke a little about why she had chosen to join the Inner Wheel Club of Warsop and informed the meeting that it was due to the friendliness and vibrancy of the members, which was agreed by all.
President Sharlotte then went on to introduce her committee and outlined her plans for the coming year. She wishes to include the community in her events this year and has planned a year of friendship and giving. Her charities are The Oaklands Warsop, Warsop Sporting Trust, SHE UK and Vibrant Warsop, all of which work hard within and for the local community.
The next event for the club is a family Picnic on the Carrs Warsop on 19th August from 12.00pm to 4.00pm (weather permitting). If you would like to know more about Inner Wheel please feel free to pop along and meet the ladies.
