The East Midlands in Bloom competition awards took place on Wednesday 20th September at Springfields Event Centre, Spalding. Four of the Edwinstowe in Bloom (EiB) team were present at the awards ceremony and Edwinstowe was fortunate enough to be presented with a Silver Award in the town category this year. In addition, Jo and Carol were given a judge’s award for their vision, enthusiasm, and incredible support for members of the newly independent EinB Group.
The tallest sunflower awards ceremony for St Mary’s School took place on 19th September. The winning pupil of each of the four years was presented with an award. The winning entries ranged from 113cm to 293cm! The tallest was grown by Martha in class 3. The adult Sunflower competition for residents of Edwinstowe closed at the beginning of October and the winner of the competition will be presented with their award at the EiB Awards event at the beginning of November.

The winning photograph for September is Morning Sunshine in Edwinstowe Forest by Caroline Foster. This is the last entry for the 2023 photography competition, which has now closed. The winning photo for each month will be used in the EiB calendar for 2024, hoped to be on sale at the Edwinstowe Christmas Lights Switch on Thursday 23rd November.
The EiB 2024 photography competition started last month and the monthly winning photos will be used to create the 2025 calendar.
