Saturday 24th February saw Edwinstowe Hospice Support Group holding a Coffee Morning in Edwinstowe Village Hall. Visitors enjoyed a variety of stalls which included jigsaws and books, children’s lucky dips, ladies’ gifts, plants, Mother’s Day gifts as well as ‘white elephant’, tombola, cakes and at least three raffles.
The large number of visitors enjoyed themselves to the extent that a rewarding amount of £680 was raised. The Support Group would like to thank all helpers and supporters for another lovely community fundraising event.
The group would also like to thank Goff’s Butchers of Edwinstowe for the sum of £110.89 obtained through a Hospice collecting box. The Christmas badge box at Dudley Taylor Pharmacy also raised £118.27, while one at the Post Office raised £16.40. Thanks go to all.
The Support Group is sad to report that longstanding committee member Mary Jennings passed away recently. She was a stalwart at meetings and events, particularly behind the ‘white elephant’ stall at Coffee Mornings.
