At their Winter Fayre on Saturday 18th November, held in Edwinstowe Village Hall, Edwinstowe Hospice Support Group was very pleased to donate a cheque for £14,091 to Tracey Joyce, John Eastwood Hospice Trust Manager.
This amount was the total from two sources: events from the last year, which raised £5,000, and £9,091 from Tracey Wilson, her family and team of Robin Hood Avenue, who very kindly donated the proceeds of online sales. This amount also included donations in memory of Tracey’s mother, Jean Frettsome, who passed away earlier in the year.
Jean was very generous with her time and good deeds and had spent so much of her life raising funds for various charities but especially for The John Eastwood Hospice. The group always valued Jean’s help and support at Coffee Mornings and at events she organised to raise funds.
The Support Group thanks Tracey, her father Bryan, her family and team for their efforts and for donating. It was a splendid amount which goes towards funding the vital work of the John Eastwood Hospice.
On the day of the Edwinstowe Christmas Lights Switch-on on 23rd November, the Support Group conducted its Hamper Raffle, Lucky Dips and Tombola (organised by Milly Gorman). Through the generosity of visitors they raised £389 – a very satisfying figure which, together with the £770 raised at the November Winter Fayre, gives a total of £1,159 to begin another year of fundraising.
They thank all helpers and supporters and hope that a wonderful Christmas is enjoyed by all.
