RHS Britain in Bloom recently revealed the 44 community gardening groups who have reached the UK Finals for 2026. In the Small Town Category, Edwinstowe in Bloom is one of only three Bloom groups selected to represent the East Midlands in this prestigious national competition. Edwinstowe in Bloom puts the community at the heart of everything it does and the group has grown from strength to strength in the four years they have taken part as East Midlands in Bloom entrants.

Accepting the accolade gives Edwinstowe in Bloomers the opportunity to impress during two rounds of judging in the summer, working together with local stakeholders to improve the area, keeping the community, the environment and horticulture at the forefront of their plans.

Jo Aylwin, chair of the group, said: “This is so exciting for Edwinstowe and it will be an absolute privilege to represent the region for the first time in the UK Finals. We have a strong core team of volunteers who bring together their skills to make things happen, not just in growing plants and creating displays. We involve the whole community with events all year round, such as the scarecrow competition and the Heart Trail. This year we will also be introducing our very first Flower and Vegetable Show in September.”

Vice Chair Carol Hallam added: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past four years and we look forward with great pride, to working together on our new venture for 2026. If anyone would like to help as a volunteer or support us with any form of sponsorship, please get in touch to have a chat about it.” Contact Carol on 07494 252153, Jo on 07949 205971 or send an email to eib@btinternet.com.
