Edwinstowe and the Dukeries Lions used their last social evening to put together 15 Easter Hampers, filled with sweets, chocolate eggs and all sorts of goodies.
The hampers were compiled from donations from Bookers of Mansfield, Tesco Express of Bilsthorpe and Lincolnshire Co-op of Bilsthorpe.
There was a monetary donation from The Major Oak Medical Practice, and members also put their hands in their pockets to make sure the baskets were full and inviting.
This is a typical Lions activity; they have a monthly business meeting to discuss funding requests, and then a second meeting later each month to have fun and do a bit of bonding. Mostly there is food and drink involved – consumed responsibly, obviously!
The hampers have been placed in several areas – pubs mainly, throughout the district – so if you see one please buy a ticket; all proceeds are used very wisely to support worthy local causes.

The group is growing all the time but needs more couples, singles, new people to the area who want to meet new friends and join activities. This year they will be hosting games nights, quizzes and a race night – and of course a repeat of last year’s sold out fashion show.
