The Dukeries u3a beetle drive held in March was a great success with a fun night had by all and a delicious supper provided by Culinary Delights.
Dukeries u3a is looking forward to a full programme of celebrations and activities in May. They will be joining with other local organisations to celebrate VE Day and King Charles III’s coronation at RSPB Sherwood Forest on Sunday 7th May. This is expected to be a fun day of music making and includes local choirs and the Nottinghamshire band of Royal Engineers.
On Monday 8th May there will be a ‘Right Royal Knees Up’ for Dukeries u3a members and guests with catering again provided again by Culinary Delights and entertainment from the Easy Thomas Blues Band. This will be an occasion to ‘dress to impress’. Wednesday 10th May will see a group from Dukeries u3a visit the Magistrate’s Court in Nottingham for a guided tour and observation of a case in progress. They were kindly invited by magistrate John Perry who gave a talk on the magistracy in February.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 15th May with special guests Dukeries Singers. On 26th May the History group will be touring the Holocaust Centre in Laxton.
