The Dukeries Community Band have started rehearsing in 2023 with typical enthusiasm. It’s such an enjoyable way to spend a Tuesday evening. You too could join if you have a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument at home that you are learning to play or haven’t played for some time.
If you would like to improve your playing and think you would enjoy playing with a band in a friendly, supportive environment then the Dukeries Community Band could be ideal for you. They have an ever-increasing repertoire from pop to classical music and lots in between, so there is plenty to enjoy.
Members meet each Tuesday during term time at the Dukeries Academy, New Ollerton from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. It is open to all woodwind, brass and percussion players of any age as long as they are able to read music and are keen to play in concerts. They are particularly looking for flute players at the current time.
Their concerts support the local community and charities, and they are always happy to hear from organisations who would like the band to play for them.
