Citizens Advice Sherwood and Newark is an independent local charity and it is looking for new people to join its group of valued volunteers. The charity provides a trusted advice service to the people of Newark and Sherwood District. The advice it provides is independent, impartial, confidential and free.
The charity tries to recruit from a variety of backgrounds to reflect the diversity in our community but all volunteers must be over 18. Some people volunteer with Citizens Advice because they want to keep their work experience up to date while out of paid employment, others do it because they have the time available and want to use it to do something that is really rewarding.
Currently Citizens Advice needs volunteers for the following roles:
- Receptionist for drop-in advice sessions at Castle House in Newark
- Receptionist/admin support, based at Ollerton
- Trainee advisers to help clients by telephone and webchat channels, based at Ollerton
- Admin Assistant to work with the specialist debt team, based at Ollerton
