Dial-a-Trip wishes all clients and drivers a very Happy New Year. Anyone looking for something new to do this New Year and who would like to help the community while meeting new people is invited to consider volunteering. New volunteer drivers are needed now, and the role is very rewarding. Volunteer drivers help clients who have difficulty accessing transport to get to necessary appointments at doctors, hospitals, dentists and similar services. To help, volunteers need their own car with a full driving licence, two references and a DBS check, which Dial-a-Trip will arrange.
Volunteers choose the hours they can do and will never be asked to take on more. Clients are picked up from their home and taken to appointments, with an hour of waiting time in most cases, before being taken home again. Petrol mileage is paid. Clients regularly say they appreciate what the drivers do and do not know what they would do without the service.
