Charity fundraising walk success

Brian Hawkins and Michael Dickinson have just completed their latest fundraising walk for the John Eastwood Hospice. They have raised an incredible £15,797.75, walking from Leeds to the Humber Bridge, bringing the total raised in the last 15 years to over £325,000! They would like to take this opportunity to say the biggest of thank yous to each and every supporter, for the fantastic generosity of their many loyal family and friends who give each and every walk they complete, to the completely random people they meet on their travels, who so kindly sponsor them. It was the 15th anniversary of the loss of Brian’s wife Glennys this May. He and Michael started out raising money to try and repay/say thank you to the amazing staff at the Hospice who cared so well, with care and compassion, not only for Glennys, but also her family during such trying times.

Although this walk has ended, Brian and Michael are intending walking the Worcester Canal, the Aire and Calder Navigation and the Huddersfield Broad and Narrow canal later this year to continue their fundraising efforts.
