Frith Space Community Café has reopened its doors on Rotherham High Street, bringing together great coffee, creativity, connection and community support in one welcoming space that’s open to everyone.
Whether you are looking for somewhere to meet friends, enjoy a light lunch, discover a new hobby, work remotely, hire a meeting room or simply take a break from the hustle and bustle of town, Frith Space is ready to welcome you.
More than just a café
Frith Space has always been about bringing people together, but the refreshed space offers even more opportunities to get involved. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed café atmosphere alongside the new Hobby Lounge, where people can connect through shared interests, learn new skills and rediscover old passions. The team are also developing a dedicated Craft Room, which will host a variety of creative workshops and wellbeing activities, including:
- Paint Your Own Canvas sessions
- Daytime Bring Your Own Craft gatherings
- Seasonal craft workshops
- Creative wellbeing activities
- Community hobby groups
Whether you are an experienced crafter or simply curious to try something new, there will be something for everyone.
The Second Chance Hobby Store
One of the most unique additions to Frith Space is the new Second Chance Hobby Store. We have all been there. The knitting kit you never started. The paint set that is still in its box. The craft project that seemed like a brilliant idea but never quite happened.
Instead of gathering dust, why not pass it on? The store aims to give unused hobby items a second life, helping people access affordable creative resources while reducing waste. Hopian are looking for donations of good quality:
- Unused craft kits
- Sewing supplies
- Knitting and crochet materials
- Art equipment
- Model-making kits
- Hobby tools and accessories
And because for many people interior design and home styling are hobbies too, they are also creating an Interior Finds section.
If you have quality items you would be happy to rehome, they would love donations of:
- Pictures and wall art
- Vases
- Decorative accessories
- Small home décor pieces
- Unique vintage finds
Businesses making a difference
The reopening has already benefited from the support of TWI Ltd (The Welding Institute), whose employees have volunteered their time and donated resources to help bring the space back to life. More organisations are invited to get involved. Businesses can support Frith Space and Hopian by:
- Choosing Hopian as their Charity of the Year
- Hosting coffee mornings or workplace fundraisers
- Organising sponsored events
- Making charitable donations
- Arranging corporate volunteer days
A team volunteering day can help transform community spaces, support local projects and make a lasting impact while bringing colleagues together around a shared purpose.
Looking for a different kind of team day?
Frith Space is developing a unique range of creative team wellbeing experiences designed for businesses looking for something different. Imagine your team spending time away from the office taking part in a guided creative challenge, collaborative art activity or community project, while enjoying great food and refreshments in a relaxed environment. Whether you are planning a team social, wellbeing day, away day or staff celebration, Hopian can help create something memorable.
Space to meet, work and create
Frith Space also offers:
- Meeting rooms for hire
- Workshop and training space
- Community group facilities
- Affordable office space to let
If you are a business, freelancer, community organisation or start-up looking for a welcoming base, they’d love to show you around.
Why it matters
Frith Space is part of Hopian, a Rotherham charity supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, trauma and sexual exploitation. Every coffee purchased, room booked, workshop attended or donation made helps them continue providing life-changing support to people across our community. You are helping create opportunities, build connections and provide hope for people who need it most.
