The next production at the Retford Little Theatre is Twist, a parody of the traditional theatrical thriller in which nobody is what they seem and nothing is what it should be.
According to the playwright, Miles Tredinnick, the play’s “cunning twists and turns will take you on a corkscrew ride of suspense and excitement. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen next, think again, as Twist catches you out one more time”.
Tredinnick himself has had a career full of twists and turns. He started as a vocalist in a punk band who recorded on MCA Records and did a national tour before breaking up. His first stage play was produced in 1982, was translated into many languages and received productions all round the world. He wrote for the international Walt Disney Magazine and contributed to TV comedy scripts such as Birds of a Feather.
His most unusual play, Topless, was set on an open-top London sightseeing bus, and was the first play ever to be performed on top of a real sightseeing bus driving through the street of the capital.
With a writing background like that, Twist is clearly going to be a winner in its field. Performances are nightly from 18th to 23rd November at 7.30pm. Tickets can be booked via the Box Office on 01777 702002 or boxoffice@rlt.org.uk.
