Ordsall Live & Local

by | 15 September 2023 | Music, Retford

Ordsall Parish Hall in Retford has three exciting and varied shows lined up for 2023-24 under the Live & Local banner, plus an additional show featuring the return of the ever-popular Jonny and Lynnette.

Friday 6th October is the start of the season with folk musician Ruth Angell. Her violin / fiddle, voice and guitar combine to produce beautiful melodies and harmonies, with something for everyone.

On Friday 24th November, sparked by the discovery of a series of letters from his father in Nigeria to his mother in Wales, ‘The Gods Are All Here’ is a moving, funny and warm-hearted, one-man performance from first-class storyteller, Phil Okwedy.

Jonny and Lynnette return on Saturday 27th January 2024 with their special brand of traditional country music and banter. Early booking is advised!

The final show, ‘The Allotment Project’ on Saturday 16th March, combines documentary, dance and theatre to explore allotments and the green-fingered communities around them.

Gentle, human and humorous, the performance connects audiences with the joy of growing plants, food and relationships across all four seasons.

All shows are at 7.30pm. As usual an (optional) light meal with a vegetarian option will be served in the interval of each performance.

Tickets for all performances can be reserved by contacting Peter and Shirley Thomas on 01777 706433 or 07951 253343, or email thomas_peterf@hotmail.com.
