Supporters of Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir can now purchase the choir’s brand-new CD, Tell My Father, which has officially gone on sale.
Priced at £10.00, the professionally recorded album contains 17 tracks and is the choir’s first recording since 2012. It celebrates the choir’s proud musical tradition and deep roots within the Mansfield community, while acknowledging its continuing development under Musical Director Ian Grice.
Ian said: “We’re immensely proud of this recording and delighted finally to be able to share it with audiences. We hope it will become a lasting reminder of the choir’s rich musical heritage.”
The choir has an exciting October programme, beginning with a joint concert alongside St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir at Christ Church, Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds, on Saturday 10th October. A week later, on Saturday 17th October, it travels to Derby Cathedral to take part in Friendship in Harmony, celebrating the 90th anniversary of Sonara Singers in what promises to be a memorable evening of choral music. The title of the recording pays tribute to the area’s mining heritage and honours the more than 360 choristers who have been members since the choir’s formation in 1944. Tell My Father will also be available to stream on Spotify, enabling former members, families and supporters around the world to enjoy the choir’s latest recording.
