Jerry Green Dog Rescue celebrates London Marathon fundraisers raising nearly £9,000

Jerry Green Dog Rescue is proud to celebrate an incredible team of four fundraisers who successfully crossed the finish line at the 2026 London Marathon, raising almost £9,000 to support dogs in need.

The achievement follows months of dedicated training, with the fundraisers putting in countless miles in all weathers, through dark winter mornings, wet and windy evenings, and long weekend runs to build endurance and resilience, all whilst organising a variety of fundraising events to boost their sponsorship totals.

Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s own Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Nancy Grimshaw, completed the marathon alongside her husband, Josh. A third fundraiser even trained in the intense heat of Tampa, Florida, before travelling to London to take part. This year marked a significant milestone for Jerry Green Dog Rescue, as it was the first time the organisation secured official charity places in the London Marathon. Following this success, the charity is delighted to confirm it has secured places again for 2027 and is now welcoming applications from supporters eager to take on the challenge.

Funds raised through events like the London Marathon are vital in helping dogs like Blossom, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier currently featured in the charity’s spring campaign. Blossom was found as a stray in a vulnerable condition; heavily pregnant and suffering from Kennel Cough and Cherry Eye. The cost of care for dogs like Blossom can reach up to £4,000, making fundraising efforts essential to providing life-saving treatment and ongoing support.

Every mile run and every pound raised helps Jerry Green Dog Rescue continue its work rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs who need it most.
