Nature photography competition showcasing Nottinghamshire’s natural environment now open for entries
Take part in a special photography competition to showcase your skills and the natural environment in Nottinghamshire, including the city of Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire County Council has launched the competition as part of its lead role to develop a Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), which sets out the priorities and actions to make sure nature and habitats can thrive and survive.
Amateur photographers of all ages and abilities can enter to be in with a chance of winning a night’s stay for three people in a luxury pod at Holme Pierrepont Country Park.
The lucky winner, who will be chosen by a panel of judges, will also have their award-winning photograph featured on the front cover of the LNRS document, which is expected to be published later this year. A selection of highly commended images will be included inside the document.
There’s lots to capture on camera to showcase what nature in Nottinghamshire means to you! Nottinghamshire is a diverse landscape with a wide range of habitats including ancient woodland, wildflower meadows, wetlands, and waterbodies, as well as numerous country parks and green spaces for people of all ages to enjoy. Photographs can represent any form of nature, from the woodlands in Sherwood Forest to the wetlands along the River Trent, or wildlife in any of the nine nature reserves in Mansfield.
The panel of judges will include representatives from the County Council. The City Council and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.
