Clipstone and Forest Town Royal British Legion will be creating a scroll of honour for members of the RBL Branch who have passed away over the last 40 years, since its amalgamation in 1986. They want to get as many names as possible to add to this memorial. If you have any relatives who you think should be honoured in this way please get in touch with them via http://www.facebook.com/ClipstoneandForestTown.RBL.
They have until the end of the year to collect these names and then they will focus on getting this scroll made.
Please remember, this list is not for people who have served in the armed forces but who were actual members of Clipstone and Forest Town Royal British Legion since 1986.
Their Facebook page lists the names they already have on their list.
Remembrance Sunday 2025
This year Remembrance Sunday will be on Sunday 9th November and the Clipstone and Forest Town Branch of The Royal British Legion hold events in two venues. Clipstone – The parade will assemble at the Cricket Pavilion on 7th Avenue from 9.30am. The route to All Saints Church will be via Church Road, with the parade setting off at 9.45am. After the Church Service the parade will reform outside the Church prior to marching to the War Memorial in Clipstone Social Club Car Park for the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.
Forest Town – The parade will assemble in the Forest Town Arena Car Park from 10.15am. The route will be along the 1st Avenue onto Queensway where it will turn left onto Clipstone Road West, it will then turn right onto George Street and will follow the same route as last year around the Village to Saint Albans Church. A Church Service will be held after wreaths have been laid at the War Memorial.
Join branch members together with serving members of the military, veterans and local youth organisations to commemorate and recognise the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces of all generations.
