People across the East Midlands are being invited to take part in this year’s Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walks, joining thousands of others across the UK to help end the devastation caused by dementia.
This autumn, there are 12 walks taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including two in Nottinghamshire:
- Sunday 20th September – Clumber Park
- Saturday 10th October – Wollaton Park, Nottingham
Individuals and groups can also organise their own Memory Walk at a time and place that suits them, helping to fund vital dementia support and research.
One in three people born today will develop dementia during their lifetime. Memory Walk is an opportunity to walk for loved ones, for those who have been lost and for everyone living with dementia – the UK’s biggest killer. Together, dementia can be made a thing of the past.
Memory Walk is an inclusive, family-friendly event suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Routes range from 2km to 10km, participation is free and dogs are welcome at all walks.
Alzheimer’s Society provides help and hope for around one million people living with dementia across the UK, including almost 75,000 people in the East Midlands. With a suggested fundraising target of £175 per person, every pound raised helps the charity deliver life-changing support and fund groundbreaking research.
