This summer, the National Holocaust Museum extends an invitation not simply to visit, but to witness, reflect, and engage. Across July and August 2026, a carefully curated programme of events offers visitors the rare opportunity to step into living history, guided by voices, stories, and experiences that continue to shape our understanding of the past.
Beginning on Sunday 12th July, the museum launches its summer series with opportunities to hear directly from Holocaust survivors. The first speaker will be Renee Salt BEM. Further speaker events follow on:
- Thursday 30th July – Agnes Kaposi MBE
- Tuesday 4th August – Steven Frank BEM
- Thursday 6th August – Joan Salter MBE
- Monday 10th August – Hedi Argent MBE
- Tuesday 18th August – John Hajdu MBE
- Monday 24th August – John Fieldsend BEM
- Thursday 27th August – Ruth Barnett MBE
Alongside these key dates, visitors can explore The Journey exhibition, where guided tours run regularly during August – every Sunday to Friday at 11.00am and 1.00pm. Every Monday, families are invited to take part in additional object handling sessions, designed for visitors aged nine and above, and on Wednesdays, dedicated handling box sessions provide further interactive learning opportunities.
Beyond the exhibitions, the Memorial Gardens remain open as a space for quiet reflection. Here, more than 1,000 white roses – each one dedicated to a loved one – create a powerful and personal landscape of remembrance. Sculptures placed throughout the gardens honour individuals, communities, and victims.
The museum’s independent coffee shop, open Sunday to Friday, serves a selection of locally sourced food and drink, while the bookshop offers resources for those wishing to continue their exploration.
