Take part in this year’s Ride+Stride

by | 7 September 2022 | Community Event, Community facility, Local Charity, Sherwood

Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the county’s beautiful church heritage and help raise much-needed funds for their preservation at the Nottinghamshire Historic Churches Trust (NHCT) Ride+Stride event on Saturday 10th September.
You are sponsored to walk or cycle to visit churches which are also sponsored for welcoming visitors. The combination of exploring heritage and exercising across our beautiful county, whilst supporting the NHCT to carry out its vital work, makes this a fantastic, local event.

Everyone can take part. You don’t have to be a member of a church; families, colleagues, friends, runners, mobility scooters and dog walkers are all welcome. Ride+Stride can be tailored to your needs too. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll from the doorstep or an epic cross-county ride, you decide your route and which churches to visit along the way. It’s a fantastic low-impact, low-cost day out!

By simply going on your usual stroll and cycle, you will be helping the trust to preserve these historic places of worship for the next generation. Last year the event managed to raise over £14,000.

From Sherwood to Southwell, Retford to Rushcliffe, participating churches are found across the county, helping to make Ride+Stride such an accessible event wherever you are. The finalised list of churches will be posted on the website soon, but many of Nottinghamshire’s churches are regular participants.
