Gainsborough Choral Society are holding a ‘Come and Sing’ event on Saturday 11th May, when there will be an opportunity to take part in a day’s singing with the Society for just £15.00 (students £5.00). Songs being sung will include numbers from The Sprig of Thyme, by John Rutter, which was performed in November, and some of the items from the concert given in March. No previous experience of choral singing is needed – just enthusiasm and an interest in singing.

The event will run from 10.00am until 3.30pm, with a lunch break and free concert being given at 3.00pm. Registration starts at 9.30am. The event takes places at All Saints’ Church, Gainsborough DN21 2JR. All music will be provided. For more information, or to book a place, email gainsboroughcands@gmail.com.

Gainsborough Choral Society, founded in 1860, is a leading choral society attracting members from Gainsborough and surrounding areas of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Currently around 80 strong, the Society performs three concerts each year, normally with a full orchestra, and visiting soloists as appropriate. Vacancies exist in all parts, and the Society would welcome new singers. No audition is required – you just need to be enthusiastic about singing!
