Bassetlaw charity Aurora Wellbeing Centres, which supports people affected by cancer, is inviting the community to take part in its ‘Turn It Pink’ campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout October, businesses, schools, community groups and residents are being encouraged to decorate windows, workplaces and community spaces in pink, host themed fundraising events, wear pink for the day and donate bras at local bra banks for use in creative community art installations.
A £10.00 business pledge includes campaign materials, a supporter sticker, social media graphics and entry into the Best Pink Window Competition. The campaign aims to bring the community together, show support for those affected by cancer and raise funds to help Aurora continue providing vital services for local people.
New murder mystery evening at Aurora
Aurora Wellbeing Centres is hosting ‘A Fatal Exhibition of Oddities’, a 1930s-themed murder mystery evening, on Friday 23rd October from 6.00pm to 9.30pm at the Old Library and Museum, home of the Aurora Centre.
Guests will explore the building, follow clues, meet colourful characters and attempt to solve the mystery before the culprit is revealed. No acting experience is required, only curiosity and a willingness to investigate.
Those attending are invited to wear their best 1930s-inspired outfit for the chance to win the Best Dressed prize.
Tickets cost £10.00, with all proceeds supporting Aurora’s work. Attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments, while tea and coffee will be available to purchase.
