Ollerton Library
Ollerton Library is located on Forest Road, next to the Post Office. It is open Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. There’s lots of services available at the Library and online at www.inspireculture.org.uk, too. Keep up with the latest news and events at Ollerton Library through their Facebook page. Join in with regular events:
Adult events
- The Crime Reading Group meets every month to discuss the monthly book and have a friendly chat. The next meetings are Tuesday 2nd December and Tuesday 6th January.
- Every Wednesday afternoon, between 2.00pm and 4.00pm, join the friendly crafters at the Craft & Chat group. Take your current craft project or start something new. All crafts welcome.
Children’s events
- Rhyme, Rattle and Roll takes place every Friday afternoon at 2.00pm, during term time only. Enjoy songs and rhymes with your little ones. It helps with vocabulary and coordination and it’s fun too! Meet new people and make new friends.
- Lego Club takes place twice a week: every Monday between 4.00pm and 5.00pm and every Saturday between 10.00am and 12.00pm. What will you make this time?
Ollerton Library’s Recycled Reads shelf has a varied selection of preloved library books for sale, with books from 30p each. Keep checking to see what has been recently added to the shelf. Join in the festive cheer at Ollerton Library. Drop in anytime to take part in the Christmas crafts and activities. Pick up a great Christmasy read; with a wide range of adult and children’s books, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Inspire exhibitions
The Big Draw 2025: Drawn Together will be at West Bridgford Library from Saturday 15th November until Sunday 4th January 2026. This exhibition celebrates the making of ‘Leaf Number Three’ – a new Virtual Reality film made from the drawings of oak leaves by groups across Nottinghamshire! The film explores the ideas of being together but separate, the same but different using the motif of leaves on a tree with audio of a poem telling the story. The workshops, illustration and animation were undertaken by My Pockets, and the film was created in VR by Neon8. For more information visit: http://www.inspireculture.org.uk/TheBigDraw.
The Inspire Community Open Exhibition 2025 will be at Beeston Library from Tuesday 4th November until Saturday 20th December. See the wonderful creative talents of Nottinghamshire artists. Every year Inspire is delighted by the artwork on show inspiring visitors to take up a new creative pathway for themselves.
Dukeries Library
Located In the Dukeries Academy, just press the buzzer on the front gate at the Whinney Lane entrance and reception staff will let you in. Dukeries Library has a wide range of books to borrow including fiction, non-fiction, spoken word and large print. The computers are free to use whether you search the internet, access the on-line resources, search the catalogue, or use the Microsoft packages (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).
Opening hours (term time only) are 8.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 3.45pm on Friday – closed each day for lunch between 1.15pm and 1.45pm.
